Closing Ceremony
A Closing Ceremony offers you the opportunity to be witnessed as you lay down your story; be held, rocked, massaged and cocooned as you cross the threshold of transformation.
It is a three-hour descent into the deepest layers of your feminine body where you will receive devotional bodywork with loving attunement, as you cross the threshold of your initiation.
As women we go through five significant transitions in our lives: Birth, Menarche (the time of our first period), Matrescence (the first time we become a mother), Menopause and Death.
These significant transitions in our life are initiations: the old identity—who we once were— dies and a new identity is born.
But there are also many, many more initiations that we go through in our lifetime: the loss of a loved one, sickness and ill-health, pregnancy loss, relocation, a career change, divorce or relationship changes, estrangement and so many more.
If we do not slow down, pause and allow ourselves to process the changes that are taking place and the emotions that come with it, we may struggle to fully cross the threshold into the new existence that is beckoning us forward.
Across many countries and over hundreds of years, women have been witnessed, held, rocked and wrapped as they navigate times of grief and change. The intention of this ritual is to gather and return her to oneself.
But somewhere along the way to a more modern existence, we have forgotten these ancient rituals and ceremonies that once helped us move through transitions with support and grace.
Our modern collective has become increasingly uncomfortable with loss, death, grief and sadness. We are expected to ‘bounce back’ after initiations, with little emotional support. We see this particularly with women in postpartum.
Therefore, it’s much more common for us to suppress and avoid emotions such as grief, in the hope that we can return to the way we used to feel.
But avoiding painful emotions doesn’t bring us the relief we think it will. It leaves us feeling lonely in our sadness, longing to return to who we once were.
The Closing Ceremony is an opportunity to honour yourself for what you have carried.
To allow yourself to truly feel your emotions in a safe and loving container.
To receive devotional bodywork that takes you into deeper layers of your being.
To commune with the sacred through ritual, prayer and intention.
